Sidhbali Temple, located in Kotdwar in Uttarakhand, is an important site of pilgrimage, and its spiritual and touristic significance draws thousands of people to visit it. With deep rooted religious and cultural significance, this ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman, one of the most worshiped and revered Hindu deities. The temple is an aesthetic natural spot, blessed with eternal greenery, within the wonderful Shivalik hills, which provides the visitor with a religious and tranquil experience.

Sidhbali Temple is deeply rooted in the mythological story of Lord Hanuman. Certain legends say that some sages settled in that region sought to achieve spiritual wisdom and thus established this ethereal temple. The sages have been attributed with many stories, and one of them is the tale that speaks about Lord Hanuman meditating at that particular site to get the divine strength to fight in his many battles.

Over the years, worshipers have affiliated the temple with the never ending grace of devotion. ‘Sidhbali’ contains the words Sidh which means perfection and Bali meaning strength or energy; so it can be inferred that Lord Hanuman achieved his incredible powers there. Because of this reason, countless devotees now visit the temple to wish for blessings and protection and divine guidance throughout their life.

Sidhbali Temple is quite the journey. It sits about 5 km from Kotdwar, a busy town in Uttarakhand which has good rail and road links to major Indian cities. From Kotdwar, the temple could be accessed by taxi or bus; and for the more adventurous, the temple could also be short hiked to through gorgeous hilly and valley routes.

By Air: The nearest airport is in Dehradun, approximately 100 km away.

By Rail: Sidhbali Railway Station is nearest, and is a stone throw’s distance from the temple.

By Road: Kotdwar is easily reachable by road, and is serviced by buses from Haridwar and Dehradun.
